Planning Weddings

Planning weddings well in advance will help to make any wedding trouble free. If you are planning a wedding you should keep in mind the following important aspects of any wedding:

1. Think about getting other people involved into the planning. If it's your own wedding, think of getting your family members and friends involved. If you are planning a wedding for someone else, still try to seek out some ideas from other people.

2. Choose a theme for the wedding, which should include the overall style and the small details to give uniqueness to this wedding.

3. Try the food that you are going to have at the wedding reception. The food might not be as good as it's advertised, so it's a good idea to try it in advance.

4. Try to come up with some special ideas to make this wedding stand out from the rest. For example, instead of regular favors you may have something special.

For instance, you can get blank CDs, burn a dozen songs that mean a lot to the bride and groom, put the names of the bride and the groom and the date on them, and place them on a table for the guests to get their copy.

5. When planning weddings, it's a good idea to have a simple backup plan for anything that might go wrong, including the transportation, the food, the location, and so on.

6. Carefully plan the budget of the wedding and stick to it. It's actually not that hard to plan the budget of a wedding if you use a percentage breakdown approach.

For example, the reception party is usually the most expensive part of any wedding, so you should allocate about 50% of the available finances for it. Next are photo/video and the bride's and groom's attire, with 10% of the total amount each.

Next are flowers and music, 8% each. Next are the stationary, rings and ceremony, which are 3% of the total available amount each. Additional small expenditures may be transportation and anything else that you might decide to have at the wedding.

7. No matter whose wedding is being planed; the bride and groom should not be overwhelmed with the planning. A wedding is a very important event, but it's just an overture to the main thing - a happily married life for the newlyweds.

Planning weddings is a substantial responsibility, but a good step by step plan will help you make this event remarkable and memorable for everyone, including the bride and the groom, their family and friends, and the guests.
