Choosing A Wedding Shoe

Though not usually quite as big a factor, some brides pay every bit as much attention to the selection of their wedding shoes as they do the dress itself. There are several different categories of shoes to choose from when making this very important decision. Three of those categories are white, ivory, and dye-able bridal shoes. Shoes in each of these three categories are available with either low, medium, or high heels. Of course, there are other options outside these three categories, but they're generally the most popular selections. When it comes to heel types, a good rule of thumb is to go with what you would normally choose for any other formal occasion.

White Bridal Shoes

We mentioned before that each of the three main categories of bridal shoes is available in with either low, medium, or high heels.

Low heels are generally chosen by brides to be for whom comfort is of paramount importance. These heels are specifically two inches or less in height, whereas medium heels range from two to three inches. This latter category is an excellent, stylish compromise between formality and comfort, which probably helps explain why they're such a popular selection. Of course, bridal shoes with heels three inches or more in height are also available, and they're absolutely gorgeous. Another consideration to make when selecting your bridal slippers is whether or not they're dye-able.

Dye-Able Bridal Shoes

Dye-able bridal shoes are an option that remains popular with a vast number of brides to be. They're especially good for your bridesmaids. As their name implies, they can be dyed to virtually any color you could possibly want them to be. As a result, you can focus on finding a style you like for you and your bridesmaids without having to worry about whether that style is available in the color you're looking for. Of course, shoes that are already other colors than white to begin with are also available.

Other Options

Beside the ones we've already discussed, other options are indeed available. Take bridal flip flops, for example. That may sound like a surprising alternative to you, but they're becoming more and more popular every year. Shoes don't get much more comfortable than these, and as much time as you're going to be spending on your feet that day, you'll surely be glad you chose them. The various styles of flip flops in this category are decorated with such embellishments as bows, crystals, and pleating. In any event, as long as you're happy with the wedding shoes you ultimately select, that's all that really matters.
